BANARES KE BHARWA ALLOO ,..GHARWALI KHEER KE SAATH..

WHEN I SAW THIS RECIPE WHILE BROWSING THROUGH BOOKS IN LIBRARY,..WAS REALLY AMAZED,..LOOKED REALY YUMMY ,..SO THOUGHT OF PREPARING BANARASI BHARWA ALLOO,,ONE MORE REASON TO PREPARE THIS RECIPE WAS I WANTED TO KNOW HOW DIFFERENT IT TASTES FROM THE MASALA BHARWA ALOO WHICH WE PREPARE AT HOME..SO HERE COMES MY VERSION OF THE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
POTATO THREE
GREEN CHILLI THREE CHOPPED
GINGER GRATED ONE TSP
CHOPPED DRYFRUITS ONE TABLESPOON
JAGGERY ONE TABLEPOON GRATED
SALT TO TASTE
FRESH CREAM ONE TABLESPOON
AMCUR HALF TSP
PULP OF TAMARIND ONE TABLESPOON
SEEDS OF CUMIN AND FENNEL ONE TSP
TOMATO PUREE HALF CUP
AND POWDER OF RED CHILLI AND TURMERIC ONE TSP EACH
OIL TO COOK
COTTAGE CHEESE
(PREFERABLY HOME MADE ONE)
PROCEDURE
FOR THE POTATOES
PEEL AND DIVIDE THE POTATO INTO PARTS,.WASH AND PAT DRY,KEEP ASIDE
HEAT OIL IN WOK SUFFICIENT TO SHALLOW FRY THE POTATOES,DRAIN OUT THE OIL AND KEEP ASIDE
ONCE THE POTATOES HAVE COOLED DOWN ,SCOOP OUT THE CENTER PART OF EACH HALF OF THE POTATO
CHOP THE SCOOPED PART AND KEEP ASIDE
FOR THE FILLING OF THE POTATOES
IN A MIXING BOWL ADD MASHED COTTAGE CHEESE ,CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES,CHOPPED POTATOES ,DRYFRUITS AND SALT,MIX WELL
STUFF THE POTATOES WITH THIS FILLING AND KEEP ASIDE
FOR THE GRAVY
HEAT ONE TABLESPOON OF OIL IN WOK
GIVE TADKA WITH ASAFOETIDA,FOLLOWD BY CUMIN AND FENNEL SEEDS
ONCE THEY START CRACKING ADD GRATED GINGER AND FRY FOR A MINUTE OR TWO
NOW ADD TOMATO PUREE,TURMERIC POWDER AND RED CHILLI POWDER,.
ADD WATER TO THE MIX AND KEEP STIRRING
NOW ADD TAMARIND PULP,AMCHUR,JAGGERY AND SALT
KEEP STIRRING,NOW ADD THE STUFFED POTATOES TO THE GRAVY,,AND KEEP COOKING ON LOW HEAT
ADD FRESH CREAM,..AND ENJOY WITH HOT RICE OR NAN...

WHILE COMING BACK FROM GYM,.I FELT LIKE EATING KHEER,CALLED UP HUBBY AND ASKED HIM TO BOIL MILK AND SOAK RICE,.FOR KHEER,.BY THE TIME I REACHED HOME,..MILK WAS ON STOvE,..AND HUBBY WAS ADDING SOAKED RICE IN THE BOILED MILK,,..AFTER THAT I CONTINUED,..I DONT LIKE KHEER WHICH IS IN LIQUID STATE,,AND I KNEW IF I ASKED HUBBY TO CONTINUE,,HE WOULD HAVE PREPARED THAT WAY...SO I KEPT STIRRING..ADDED FEW STRANDS OF SAFFRON,SUGAR NEEDFUL AND FINALLY AFTER SOME MINUTES,,DELICIOUS KHEER WAS READY,,..

TAMATAR MALAI KORMA FOR INTERNATIONAL FOOD LEAGUE

I was really feeling bad because i had missed open sesame 1 as i was on blog break,..and yes recipe marathon too,..then siri told me about open sesame two,..thus the guessing the riddle began,..
i chose box number 2 and this is the riddle which i got

i couldnt guess the riddle,got confused with capsicum she sent me this hint
and finally i knew the answer...TOMATO
huh tomato,..sounds easy but couldnt think of anything except chutney,raitha or pickle,...thought lot,..asked my friends too..what to prepare ,..cause the main ingredient of the recipe had to be tomato and then i got his recipe from one of my relative,.its called TAMATAR MALAI KORMA

PANEER KOFTA OR ALLO GOBHI award ke sath..

Few days back,,,had invited Sheetal for lunch at home,,,till a day before had not decided what to prepare for lunch,as i had to meet her around 12 ,had to finish my preparation before 12,..cooking is not tough for me,..problem was managing was my son...cause these days he gets up at 8 ...and is active till noon,..and i had to manage both advay and cooking,..to charge myself had tea in the morning,..started with the kofta preparation,..couldnt click the pics,,while cooking,,,as i was managing many things together,..advay bange dhis head twice,..so my sis with whom iw as chattin through skype too ,,.told me to make him seat on his chair,..and put the seat belt,,thats what i did,..and my mother and sis were entertainin my son online while i was cookin...sigh..this is somethin which i wil remember always,..talking about my sis there is great news to share...she is selected to receive the star pole award for best business feature in business today...really happy for her...:-)

Sorry sheetal i knw i promised u long back that will mail u the recipe asap,..but many things were keeping me busy,..finally thought of blogging this recipes..so that it reaches..you...sorry for keeping u waiting from such a long time,as i had to prepare koftas in hurry,,,i didnt had much time,..i had to prepare cottage cheese too,.
ingredients
for the koftas
cottage cheese mashed one cup
bread soaked and mashed half cup
potato boiled one
one table spoon plain flour
salt to taste
black pepper crushed one tsp
for the garvy
paste of onion,tomato,garlic one cup
green chilli paste one tsp
cumin seeds one tsp
milk half cup
khoya two tabelspoon
mixture of red chilli,turmeric ad coriander one tbsp
fresh cream to garnish one tablespoon
chopped dryfruits two tablespoon
oil to cook
salt to taste
procedure
for the koftas
mix everything together
make small balls
heat two tablespoon oil
shallow fry the koftas
keep turning till they are brown from both sides
p.s. i never deep fry the koftas,,,if u wish u can deep fry them
for the paste
heat oil in wok
add cumin seeds
add the prepared onion paste and keep frying till u see oil
along the sides of the vessel
now add the masalas,slat and mix well...
once masals start sticking,,add milk followed by khoya
add water and let it boil
just before serving,put the prepared koftas inthe gravy,
and heat for a minute or two.
before serving garnish with fresh cream and chopped dryfruits

ONCE ONIONS START CHANGING COLOUR ADD SALT AND RED CHILLI
KEEP FRYING'
NOW ADD THE POTATOES AND CAULIFLOWER
COVER AND COOK
KEEP CHECKING
ONCE DONE MIX GARAMMASALA AND SERVE.

santre wala pulao poro ke saath or strip weight loss par,..

notyet100jacks family is obsessed with weight problem,..so their diet is restricted tocertain things..jack finds solaces in his friend jills company...


this comic book is my first entry for the create a comic event started by lakshmi of taste of mysore ,thanks lakshmi for introducing this hobby,,keeps me really occupied,,,specially when rajneesh is on call,,and my son is sleeping,..toondoo,.rocks,..its got so many features and applications,..and easy to use too,...thanks for toondoo,..too,..i am hooked to it,,,now ..not gettin time for tshirt painting,,,and my other hobbies,..:-)

prepared pulao with orange flakes,,,few days back...here goes the recipe

ingredients

cooked rice one cup
saffron strands dissolved in one tablespoon of milk
few seeds of cloves,green cardamom and crushed cinnamon stick
orange chopped
grounded black pepper
orange juice one fourth cup

oil to cook
salt totaste

procedure

heat oil in wok
add cinnamon,clove and green cardamom,and saute for a minute
add cooked rice ,followed by juice

keep frying
add salt,keep few orange pieces for garnishing,.add others to the rice
add pepper,followed by grounded pepper
finally add dissolved saffron and cover and cook
delicious pulao is ready ,..

chopped tomato one
chopped potato half
crushed garlic two cloves
green chilli two chopped
cheese grated

procedure

heta oil in wok ,
add cumin seeds,onion,tomatoes,potatoes,green chilli,garlic
season with salt and pepper ,
