Masala Limca

This post is not about Bhindi or Paratha. or the chutney and onions which you can see in the pic. This post is about Masala Limca which I tried for the first time at home. All you need is jaljeera for this I have used Jalani brand and some ice cubes. In a glass add one tbsp of Jaljeera followed by Limca. Add ice cubes. Thats all. You can further dress it up by adding mint leaves and a slice of lemon. I didn't do that. This was enough to remember Indian Summer.

Layered Love - Indian Street Food Fruit Cream

You don't need much to bring the flavour of home on the plate. Take a bowl add a layer of homemade rabdi  top it with pulp of fresh mango  srinkle few blueberries  and top it with whisked cream. serve it like a surprise after dinner.  your kids will remember the taste of this  in the years to come. smother them with love  specially when they are buried by the weight  of the anxiety. this will be that sunshine in their life. that delicacy which will remind them of your love.

What's for Dinner - Mutton Biryani

Can I take this for tiffin tomorrow? That's what he said yesterday night when he saw that I had cooked Biryani for dinner. Biryani is a therapy which I love to enjoy whenever I am stressed. So Biryani was cooked and paired with raita and coriander chutney.

Allahabadi Samosa

It’s funny where a dream can take you and that’s what happened today. I woke up with the image of a halwai shop from my hometown. In my mind I know I will be able to travel there sometime in 2023. But the image of the shop and the delicacies kept playing in my mind. So thanks to that dream samosa had to be cooked at home if it was some other snack I could have easily ordered from somewhere. But the filling is important for us and I know that familiar taste I can only recreate at home or go to my hometown which for now looks impossible to me. So it was announced at home that I am going to cook samosa, someone was happy that it won’t be the ready to eat one. Samosa from scratch is a big thing for me and in my home. Someone quietly helped me make the same so in a way it became a family activity. The crust could have been more crispy but the sight of it paired with tamarind chutney and adrak chai was a therapy for our soul..and for me this was Allahabadi Samosa. Also the name of hometown is something else now but for me it’s still Allahabad.
