Days are flying quiet fast,and these days i am really busy packing Saree

,arranging my sis suitcase,writing invitation card

and doing so many other chores related to marriage,in other words i am enjoying shopping for sarees,bangles and that too from lajpat nagar,chandni chowk,karol bagh these are the shops where u will get everything related to marraige and tomorrow i have to go to lajpat nagar again to search for my sis wedding dupatta,i mean i have to take her lehenga Saree and match dupatta with the lehenga and then give it for designing,huh,..so u guys can cee how busy i am :-)

marriage is on 26th June so still a month left but hundreds of things to do,.with marriage on my mind ,i thought of taking u guys on a joy ride too,frens i invite you all to participate in my own event Shadi ki Thali

,as i am really curious to know what special delicacies is prepared in your native during marriage ceremonies which is a must,yes we have some recipes too which i will be sharing with u guys after the shadi,but you guys can start sending me delicacies which can be anything,i will be glad if u can send me whole platter in thali

And now the exciting part :) I have guest hosted blog events before but this is my own FIRST event :-) :-) :-) and this i how it happened -

yesterday evening  I was busy doing t shirts for my younger sis ,I was thinking I will give her a surprise by giving them to her on Valentines Day…though she is not believer of this day,..while painting the idea of hosting this event dawned on me,..since then this has been on my  mind ,,,urging me to go ahead and announce,..but as this one is my first event I was bit wary about how you guys gonna react,..what if u all say,..Valentines Day at this age ,..we are not kids anymore,..;-),..i know its very difficult to paint and create,.with kids around,..yesterday night when I was doing the tshirts Advay was busy colouring himself,..by the time I was done,,.his grey plain trouser was colourful  with marks from sketch pen,his face and hand green,…but after I was done I felt so happy,,I was playing  with colours after three months…after coming back from Singapore,,,I was not able to devote time to Tshirt painting which really acts like therapy for me, apart from cooking of course :) so friends  just give it a try it by taking part in this fun event and show m yr colors !!!

 

ANNOUNCEMENT OF FESTIVE FOOD EVENT ONAM CELEBRATION

After successful celebration of Krishna and Ganesh Chaturthi I am back with yet another Festival ~ Onam Celebration at ASANKHANA ,

Priti AND Purva have given me the opportunity to host Festive Food Event.

The Festive theme for this month being Onam Festival Celebrations,for which i am really Thankful to both of them.

''Onam is harvest festival celebrated with great joy in Kerala to welcome King Mahabali whose spirit is said to visit Kerala. Onam,celebrated in the month of CHINGAM which is the first month of MALYALAM calendar.

Onam celebration last for 10 days,first day is known as Atham and last day is known as Thiruonam.Onam is also National Festival of Kerala since 1961.

Onam is celebrated by beautiful designs of Pookalam, which is colourful arrangment of flowers on floor,this ritual is followed in almost all the households of Kerala,during the 10 day long festival .During Onam Boat Races known as Vallamkali Boat Race also known as snake boat race are organised during 10 days Onam Festival.The curled ends of the boats are shaped like cobra hoods and it is from this shape that boat has derived its name. There are Elephant processions on the streets, which gives Royal touch to the festival.

Ona Sadya is prepared on the last day of the festival which depicts the happiness of people towards King Mahabali whose spirit is said to visit during Onam. The grand feast of Payasam, Aviyal, Rice, Popadums, Kootukari......list of irresistible food goes on are served on Banana leaf. source from here

Announcement of Rci Gujarat and Mussel Pasta

Hi friends due to some reason my friend lakshmis feeds are not coming in toi..she has announced the round up of RCI PUNJAB today which can be viewed here and for this month the theme is GUJARATI and she has asked me to host it, thanks lakshmi will try my best to host it to your expectations,, , the detail are as follows

today i experimented with macroni and mussel and created this recipe...easy to cook without any fuss it surely beats the hunger pangs when you are in hurry ,hungry and dont have much time to cook,..so without wasting any time let me tell u the ingredients and procedure

ingredient for one person ( u can alter the quantity according to your need )

one handful of macroni ,.i microwaved macroni for 6 minutes
in those six minutes i chopped onion and took out the mussel from salt water
vegans can substitute mussel with mushroom or cottage cheese
crushed pepper half teaspoon
salt to taste
tabasco garlic pepper sauce one teaspoon
mussel three kept in salt water for half an hour
procedure

heat half teaspoon oil in nonstick pan
add chopped onions,crushed pepper and salt
once onions turn brown add boiled macroni followed by mussels





put tabasco sauce and fry further for two minutes


serve hot ;-)
