Happinees is sharing Meetha Phulki/puchka/Golguppa :-)

Didi - which one you wnat ?
Me - umm i want  meetha  patta and you ?

Didi - then i will take spicy one and we will share both ;-)
Me - ya then we will eat Karela Papdi  too
Didi - dont forget we have to take some for Dadi too
Me - and on return we will pack some kulfi so after dinner we can have on terrace;-)
This conversation is about those summer days
when there were no Malls ,Multiplex,and other High end shopping areas,
when call were made once a week and letter were written to friends and sis
when eating Chaat didnt meant ordering in a posh restaurent with different kind of fillings,
when summer vacation meant cousins at home and endless trips to bazaars for shoping knick knacks like bangles and earring and drinking lassi and  eating rabdi
when night were spent sharing stories and playing games on terrace with cousions
when Happiness was sharing Meetha Golgappa :-)
I really miss those days :-( what about you guys ?
Coming back to todays post sharing with you all Platter of Meetha Golgappa

Ingredient
Golgappa
to fill in
spiced chickpea half cup
tamarind jaggery chutney
curd three tbsp beaten
boondi one fourth cup
sev three tbsp
chopped onion one
preparation
recipe of tamarind jaggery chutney blogged here
for spiced garbanzo beans
soak chickpeas for 10- 12 hrs
boil and drain the water
mix salt and chaat masala .
keep aside.
Before serving
arrange the golgappas on the plate
poke a small hole and fill in with
spiced chickpea,boondi
top it with curd and chutney
sprinkle sev and onion
and juste eat it ;-)

Awesome chaat...Your words took me back down the memory lane....We too used to play till late nights and always used to run to the kulfi wala who blows a whistle and walks...Ya those where golden days...now its more than 3 years that I have met my cousins:(..either I or they wont be in town..

And, to me in the States, it made me feel like I got a little glimmer into your everyday world. I loved it. Thank you- It was such a refreshing change as I have been so submerged in other things lately. :)
