Varalakshmi Pooja pics and the art of making Vadai

Its always good to know about different culture,tradition and ritual
thus when i was invited to attend the VaraLakshmi Pooja\ \


by my neighbours i was truly elated
sharing pictures with you all of the Varalakshmi Vratham
closer look of the deity
the offerings
some more Pooja pics
at another friends place

and ya i learnt to prepare the Ulundu Vadai at my neighbours place
,this is something which i have to still try
maybe one day will prepare and relish this with a bowl of sambhar ..:-)

Nice images! I couldn't do it this year as I was traveling. I find it so interesting that eve within South India where this puja is performed, there are diff traditions. For example, the vadas with hole is not made in our homes on an auspicious day while it's mandatory for some communities to do so. That's what makes India so interesting!
