LEMONY LEMON RICE WITH TANGY GRILLED TOMATO CHUTNEY AND SWEET GULABI LASSI....

Lemon rice reminds me of college days,..i remember in between classes we used to ask our batchmates what they have got from their home for lunch and lemon rice was the most frequent one,..in their tiffin,..as our hostel food was not good,..food got by our localite friends was boon for us...i prepared lemon rice for the first time,..here in singapore and enjoyed with frequently prepared grilled tomato chutney and papad.

for tempering
in another vessel heat half tsp of oil
add mustard seeds and once they start spluttering
add urad dal and curry leaves,
pour the contents over lemon rice.
Before serving garnish with coriander and curry leaves,..
another variation of lemon rice is to add peanuts and chanadal if u guys knw any other variation of lemon rice do share,,,.:-)
Grilled tomato chutney is frequently prepared at our home,it goes well parantha, khichdi and tehari as a side dish along with curd, salad and papad.

Lovely lemon rice-- it's a favorite in our home. And the chutney looks great. Nice idea to grill the tomatoes first. I've never tried it that way.
